I have been looking into buying a JD4200 vs a Kubota 3710. There are so many tradeoffs. Both have the power shuttles, comparable hp,loaders,size. I like the idea of the powershift tranny(gst) over the standard tranny. I like the fact that the JD hydrualic remotes stay on the tractor when the loader comes off. You lose the joystick when the kubota loader comes off. The prices are similar. The warranty is better on the Kubota (3year) compared to the JD (2yr). However the price increases if you want remotes for the kubota. The JD price was around $21,305 +tax The kubota is around $21,200 w/dual remotes. Any Advice would be helpful, please post facts or experiences and/or price comparisons.

Can't speak for the Kubota,but I have a 4600 sitting in the garage now and It's great.The biggest thing I looked at was the hookups.The loader and hoe come off so easy and fast it's almost scary.The machine itself is a very smooth running diesel.Kubota, I believe is every bit the engine and tractor,but they DO NOT compare in hookups.There is a lot of soul searching involved,but myself,I am not sorry I went with JD.Hope this helps. ....

I totally agree with the JD for hook ups. It takes less than 5 minutes to put my attachments on and off. Backhoe is a breeze to hook up. I also have a 4600 and I wouldn't change for the life of me it runs great I've put almost 200 hrs on it this past month with out a hitch. ....

Both tractors are really nice. If you take the loader on and off lots ---- then do it on both units before making the choice. Deere does a good job with the de-tach -- but Kubota's system is great also. The key is --- How does the tractor feel under YOU. Feel the gears, speeds, noise level, on/off comfort, platform spacing, easy of controls-steering wheel-hydr. levers. Test drive, hard work demo, or rent them both. My choice is Orange -- I'm bias and feed my family selling Orange. The fellows next door at the Green place are fine gentlemen and need grocery money too. If you'll give the Orange HST a chance. to show how smooth it is... you may re-think the transmission choices...Good luck and have fun shopping.SteveCarver Equip NC ....

4600, model 48 backhoe, 4600 loader & rear blade came to $28,700. exactly. I bought from a local dealer and he has been great to work with. I could have saved a couple of pennies out of state but I wanted the dealer around here in case any problems may occur. I have about 200 hrs on it and have worked the dickens out of it pulling stumps and digging ditches runs great. I loaded over 200 yards of fill as well I'm real happy with everything so far. ....

on the 4600 is the loader tight when hooked up or does it rattle when driving. even though the loader is quick to take off i was just wondering if it was as heavy duty as the kubota loader ....

I've had it running wide open going down the road and haven't notice it making a lot of noise from rattling seems to be a real tight fitting loader. ....
